Are you sanitizing your cutting boards on a regular basis?


I don’t know about you but I use a cutting board at least once a day.  I am obsessed with sanitation especially with all the ways we can contaminate our food and surfaces by using the same utensils that may not be cleaned properly.

Cutting boards are one such utensil that we can sometimes forget to sanitize properly.   Here is one doctor’s recommendation for the proper way to sanitize our wood and plastic cutting boards.

“For both plastic and wood, coat it with a light spray of distilled white vinegar, followed by a light spray of hydrogen peroxide. Let it sit for 10 minutes, then rinse and dry thoroughly.”

  1. I didn’t know that! With the wood ones, I have always wiped with soapy water and then lightly rinsed, dryed and re-oiled and with the plastic I just washed in the sink. That will change now, better safe than sorry, thanks for the information.
