Oliso Smart Iron Model TG1600 Limited Edition Review & Giveaway

I had the pleasure of reviewing the Oliso Smart Iron Model TG1600 Limited Pink Edition recently. I have to tell you all that I enjoy ironing – yes I know I must be crazy but I actually do like to iron clothes.  Most mom’s today do not even own an iron but I am one of those people who feel my family is a reflection on me and if they go out of the house wrinkled then it’s my fault.  You may not agree but this is my personal feeling and has been for a long time.  I once had someone tell me I was there hero because I took great pains to iron my son’s play clothes from a very young age.  It’s just something I learned at an early age from my Mom and I continue ironing each week for my husband and I.

I have used a steamer type iron for years. Unfortunately the company no longer manufacturers the product I have now and I started to get worried because this thing is on it’s last leg.  I tried so many “steam” irons over the years from the very inexpensive to the very expensive and nothing really satisfied my needs.  Most do not have enough steam power to really take the wrinkles out of cotton fabrics which are the hardest to iron. Professional steamers are very expensive and they require storage space in a closet or some place that they can be left out as most are pretty large.  I don’t have that type of space and really didn’t want to spend a small fortune on a professional steamer.

So I am always on the hunt for a new steamer/iron that will do as good of a job as a professional steamer and I think I have finally found it in my new Oliso Smart Iron.

I honestly had never heard of this brand before but after doing my research I was so impressed with the products they make I will be a life-long customer of Oliso.

The Oliso TG1600 has:

  • 1800 watts of power (which after doing my research is more than any other steam iron on the market today)
  • a safety 30-minute extended auto-shut off feature (which is a wonderful safety feature because we have all left the iron on at one time or another I know I have)
  • a extra-large 12.7 ounce side fill tank (which I love since it annoys me when I have to stop and refill the tank)
  • a beadblast stainless steel soleplate (which is wonderful for easy-glide ironing)
  • a flat pressing surface
  • a detailer tip to get around buttons and make perfect pleats (or for anyone who sews this is a wonderful feature to help you get the most precise press on your garments as you sew)
  • and a 12-foot cord for full range of motion (which I love – no restrictions on how far you can get from the electric plug)

This iron has some amazing features that no other iron on the market today can claim.  My favorite being the “scorchguard” feature.  You have to see it to believe it.  This amazing smart technology, with one touch, lowers the iron to the garment ready to work. Take your hand off and the patented scorchguards and it automatically lifts the iron off the board preventing scorches, burns, and tipping.from the down position (touching your clothing) to an elevated position when you release your hand from the iron.

Use your Oliso TG1600 in the upright position as a garment steamer, it can handle this job with ease.

  1. I have an Oliso and it is one thing f the best irons I’ve ever used. I’m so in need of another as mine is leaking for some reason. Would love this.

  2. Oh my …I had a Rowenta steam engine for about 10 years. Sadly it died about 3 months ago. I bought one of the new ones while Joann’s had on sale. What a mess I ended up taking it back the next day, It was cheaply made and trash in my opinion. I must be weird too because I love to iron and the more steam the better. I can’t stand for anything to be wrinkled. clothes sheets you name it… I have so been missing my old Rowenta. I am currently using a very cheap Rowenta from big lots. I decided I would wait and see if I could ever find a older one like I had before . But sadly I have yet to find one… If this works as great as you say then this is definitely what I need. So I am gonna be praying I win it.

  3. would love to use and make the kids new shirts with Iron-ons with names and characters they love

  4. This would really help me with my iron falling over. My battle scars seem to be mounting. I always try to do 2 things at once and placing the iron down correctly seems to be the last thing on my mind. You would think I would learn, so glad they have these irons to protect people like me from trying to catch a falling iron with their bare hands.

  5. It appears to be a really nice Iron. Many do not know how to iron these days but for me, I iron all of my families clothes nearly. I think the detailer would be really nice to get around all of my husband’s shirt buttons or smaller clothes. The scorchguard sounds really nice too!! Thank you for the chance!

  6. Love the link color as I am a stage 4 metastatic breast cancer survivor of 3 years so far. Love everything pink… yet another reason this has to be a fabulous iron… Hope in I win. Sick of the cheap iron I currently use that I bought at big lots. That leaks water everywhere.
