Flawless Cleanse by Finishing Touch – Review!

Today I will  be reviewing the Flawless Cleanse Facial Cleanser and Massager.

I was really excited to receive this product and give it a try.  I’ve owned so many cleansing brushes over the years from the very expensive electric to inexpensive manual ones and they are all in a box in the closet or in the trash.  I’ve had issues with my skin since I was a teen and at 64 years old it is exhausting trying to find something that works and works well enough to properly clean my skin.

The product comes with one brush, a charging station and a USB cable to charge on any computer or phone (with an adaptor).  See the video below how I used my phone charger to convert it to a A/C adaptor.

Its waterproof so it can be used in the shower as well.

The brush head is permanent so there’s no need to buy replacement brush heads.

The brush head is made of hygienic silicone, after each use, just wash it gently with anti-bacterial soap and you are ready for the next use.

The Flawless Cleanse Facial brush has 4 modes, gentle cleansing, pulsating, massage, and deep cleanse.  It works on every skin type from sensitive to normal.

I can honestly say it’s amazing!  It’s gentile but I felt like my skin was properly cleansed when I was finished washing my face.

You can use any type of cleansing product (your usual brand) it works well with both bar soap and liquid facial cleanser.

I use something for acne prone skin, it’s a liquid cleanser and it worked just fine with the brush.

And the price is right as well.  The Flawless Cleanse Facial sells for a mere $39.99 – a far cry from some of those pricier brands that sell for over $200.00!

Comparing Cordless Vacuums – You get what you pay for! (Simplicity S65 Cordless Vacuum – I love it)

I set out to do some research on cordless vacuums because my Shark bit the dust two weeks ago after a little over a year of use.  I have other vacuums in our house but I really like the cordless model for the fast clean ups.  I used the cordless model every day so when the Shark bit the dust I really started to miss having it.  I wasn’t convinced that another Shark was the way to go as they have really escalated in price and it only lasted me a little over a year so I decided to look at other options before I made my purchase.

I wanted to test a cheap no-name brand and a more expensive well known brand to see if the extra money was really worth spending.  It took a few weeks of doing the research and reading customer reviews but I settled on two I felt would make for a great comparison.

The first was the cheaper version that I purchased from Amazon – no brand name but the reviews were all decent and for only $89.00 (it was a one day special with a discount code – now it is regular price of $269.00) I felt it was worth a try for $89.00.  I purchased it with my Prime Membership so it arrived in a few days.

The kind folks at Jessica Cosmetics sent me this beautiful “Ocean Glow” Phenom collection to review for my followers.

The Jessica Cosmetics Phenom collection is a phenomenal evolution in polish technology. It’s fast, it lasts, and it shines. Exclusively formulated for salon professionals (but you don’t have to be a professional to purchase it), the 3-Step Phenom Polish System delivers fast-drying in natural light, chip resistant, gel like shine that last up to 10 days, and removes easily like polish. No LED/UV lamps are needed. JESSICA’s custom Base coats are exclusively formulated to work flawlessly with the Phenom system.

So I set out to test the Phenom collection and see if it truly does last 10 days.

You all know I use my hands all day long and typing up to 12 hours a day (yes I do) between working on my blog or working for my non-profit organization I’m always on my computer typing which can destroy a manicure of any kind.

I am blessed with very nice strong natural nails so I do not like to do any type of LED polish treatments as it weakens my nails so I stick to regular polish.  However, we all know that regular polish, regardless of the brand and the amount of abuse you put your hands through each day, can start to chip in as little as 3 days.

That is why I was so excited to discover that Jessica Cosmetics had come out with a No LED polish that lasts up to 10 days.

Included in any of the Phenom collections will be a base coat, a final shine top coat and three amazing colors.  The Ocean Glow comes with:  Purple Urchin, Sea Star (which is what I have on my nails), and Blue Nautical.  Each beautiful color has a hint of tiny sparkles for an added glow.  I love them all.

Today was day one for my 10 day test of the Phenom collection (photo below).  I will be back to comment on day 10 and show you the results.

Day # 1 (I have three coats of Sea Star on my nails, it’s a sheer color so I wanted a more intense look.)

As promised here is the results (photo below) of 10 days of wear with Phenom – as you can see I circled the growth at the cuticle but not one chip or peel of this amazing polish.  And I truly put it to the test for 10 days cleaning, typing for hours each day on the keyboard and really not taking care of my nails (wearing gloves in water) like I normally would.  I wanted to see how it would hold up under harsh conditions and as you can see if passed with flying colors.  Yes there is some very very slight wear at the free edge (tips) of my nails but that’s to be expected after 10 full days.

Contest has ended.  Thank you!

As a licensed manicurists I have the ability to choose any polish or gel polish brand or brands on the market today.  If you ask any manicurist I am sure they will tell you we all have our favorite brands, colors, applications, etc.

I have been in this industry for 15 years and have tried almost every brand of polish from the designer high end most expensive ones to the drug store brands and I have my favorites for several reasons.

I will tell you that the cheaper the polish the less effective they will be in lasting on your nails but that doesn’t mean you have to spend $25 on a bottle of designer polish to get great results.  That’s why I love the complete line of JESSICA products they are reasonably priced.

I evaluate a polish by the following criteria:

  1. Ease of applications
  2. How long it lasts
  3. Selection of colors available

Over the years I really haven’t changed my opinions of my favorite brands and JESSICA is on the top of my list.

They are at the cutting edge of trend colors, their polish is reasonably priced and lasts up to 14 days depending on whether or not you take care of your manicure.

Now there are many factor’s that will effect your polish condition as the days go on but if you take care and pamper your hands you can get up to two weeks out of a good professional nail polish.

I always recommend using rubber gloves when your nails are polished to do household chores.  Chemicals and water will reek havoc on your polish and manicure.  I know many people do not like to wear them but it is really important to protect not just your manicure but your hands in general from harsh chemicals.

JESSICA brand polish, gel polishes and treatments can be found on their website at www.jessicacosmetics.com

With 250 classic and trend-setting shades, and a variety of finishes in Creme, Frost, Glitter, High Shine, Metallic, Matte, Opalescent, and Sheer you are going to find something you LOVE!

All JESSICA polishes are 7-Free: No Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Toluene, DBP, Camphor, Xylene or Ethyl Tosylamide – cheap drug store brands many still continue these harmful chemicals that can cause cancer.

This is one of the newest collections from JESSICA called “Indie Fest” and the colors are amazing.

I choose “Desert Sun” to show you as it doesn’t do the color justice in the box.  It’s a beautiful golden brown with miniature gold flecks – just beautiful!

Mionetto Wine Review!

Disclosure: I received a sample (as described below) to conduct my review for this blog post.  All opinions stated in this post are truthful and mine alone.  Receiving a sample(s) of this product in no way influenced my opinion in this review.

My husband loves wine, he has a small glass at dinner each night.  Some years he makes his own wine but this year he was not able to secure the necessary ingredients (due to Covid 19) to make his own.

Since he was unable to make his own he has been buying different brands to see which ones he likes best.  We have a very large liquor mart in our town that carries over 100 brands of wine so he has quite the selection.

So when the delivery from Mionetto arrived it was quite the pleasant surprise!

We received from Mionetto two bottles of wine, a bottle of Rose and a bottle of Prosecco.

So what is rosé wine? Winemakers create a rosé wine by juicing red grapes and then allowing the juice to soak with the skins for a very short period, usually only two to three days. As soon as the juice begins to take on the beautiful pink color the winemaker desires, the skins are removed and the juice is allowed to ferment, creating delicious rosé.

I personally prefer a rosé over other wines when I drink (which is not very often) but my husband prefers a dark red wine over others but he did enjoy drinking the rosé with his meal that evening.

So what is a prosecco wine? Most Prosecco wines are produced in a dry, brut style. However, due to the grapes’ fruity flavors of green apple, honeydew melon, pear, and honeysuckle, it usually seems sweeter than it is. Even though brut is the most popular sweetness level of Prosecco sold in the market today, you can find styles that are sweeter if you seek them out. Here is how Prosecco is labeled for sweetness:

  • Brut 0–12 g/L RS (residual sugar) – Up to a half gram of sugar per glass
  • Extra Dry 12–17 g/L RS – Just over a half gram of sugar per glass
  • Dry 17–32 g/L RS – Up to 1 gram of sugar per glass

About Mionetto Winery:

In 1887, master winemaker Francesco Mionetto opened the winery in Valdobbiadene, in the heart of the Prosecco area, just north of Venice. His love and passion for the region and its wines are still to this day a fundamental value for this unique winery. Mionetto has become a flagship for the area and a shining example of Prosecco production on the international scene.

From the very beginning, Mionetto has always been a modern and innovative winery able to anticipate trends while maintaining at the same time a strong bond with the traditions of its homeland, a feature which still today sets it apart from other sparkling wine producers.

In 1982, the Mionetto family introduced autoclave fermentation by switching to the Charmat method, which allows for better preservation of the flavors and aromas of Prosecco. After an initial soft pressing and the temperature-controlled first fermentation that takes place at the facilities of our selected producers, using the Charmat method, the second fermentation takes place in autoclaves instead of individual bottles. This additional temperature-controlled fermentation is recommended for the Prosecco in order to help maintain the freshness and aroma of the grape in the bottling phase.
The winemaker’s job is not only to produce a high quality sparkling wine, but to maintain the relationships with local farmers who provide the grapes. Mionetto is fortunate to have relationships with vineyard owners that date back for generations. The strength and longevity of these relationships can affect the quality and quantity of grapes provided to a winery. These relationships have been passed from generation to generation at Mionetto.

Mionetto wines are available in the USA at most liquor stores (store locator can be found here) or one line at their website (in limited states) https://drizly.com/wine-brands/mionetto/b887 (look for the pop up with $5.00 off your first order)

Mionetto wines are very reasonably priced and come in a variety of types including non-alcoholic flavors.
