A Note From Rosey: I asked my niece Elise to do this review as I wanted to get a younger person’s perspective on this boot. This is her review.
I tend to be a very picky person with my footwear. I don’t like designs or a lot of extras because I want shoes to be versatile. I live in New York City, and our weather can be quite random. Sometimes I need boots in April, but I don’t want them to look like I just came out of the Winter trenches!
So when I was asked to do a review of Lugz footwear, I was a little hesitant. But when I looked online at their diverse collection, I was stunned. There was an abundant variety of styles and types of shoes, as well as a range of vibrant colors. And when I landed on the Lugz Empire Hi in Black Cherry/Gum, I was sold. Can you say gorgeous? I couldn’t wait to try them on.
I love so much about these boots. They’re thick, making them perfect for wintery and rainy weather. The red tones on these are gorgeous, and the design only adds. I’ve found sometimes that designs on boots really takes away from them, but I think this is design makes them even more unique than other boots. The slight silver in the Lugz logo looks classy. Basically, they’re beautiful.
I wore them with cut off ankle jeans and thick boot socks, and it added a pop of flare to my outfit. They were comfortable on my walk to a local coffee shop, and I had room to layer up on socks if I needed (which, due to the weird sizing of my feet, I have to do). The laces tied easily as well, and I thought it looked stylish with the knot showing and tucked in. They breathe very well. Sometimes you have to worry about boots getting ruined by squatting, but these held.
I think these would still be a big hit even if you wore your jeans or pants over the tongue; I just happened to really love the look. I truly think the product is made well. I really love them and I can’t wait to try them out for a longer day. I would highly recommend Lugz in the future! The boot I have is a 9, and I’m typically a 9.5 but can go as small as an 8 in boots. I have some room (hence why I need extra sock layers), so maybe consider a size down. They’re very quick with shipping so you’ll have them on your feet in no time!
